Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been a fan of Carrick Craft Brewery beers for a few years and it was good to meet the Brewers and see the brewery.
The beers are excellent, full of flavour and taste.

As we own a micro brewery back home we decided to visit a few local breweries. We turned up and there was no problem with a tour. We did not need the tasting tour and it was more us asking questions about the technical details rather than your usual tour. However we spent a good half an hour talking to the head brewer Francesco and took home a few experimental bottles to try. A great bunch of people who have done a great job with a 5BBL. Great inspiration for us. Recommend trying their beers!

I visited the brewery, with a group of people connected with the cobblestone pub, during the Joe Mooney festival . It was organised beforehand and when we arrived everything went perfectly, despite us visiting at a very busy time. They welcomed us in their own bar, located beside the brewery, it's full of character with and really fits with the craft brewing image! We were treated to a tasting , the coalface black IPA and the pilsner were my favourite! We were then brought on a tour of the brewing facilities and everything was explained really well. It was a great tour, thanks very much!

During my research prior to heading over to Ireland, and based upon the Trip Advisor reviews, I earmarked a visit to this brewery. At the time I checked, the 2 Nov 2016 was the latest review, and an attempt to visit the brewery website was that it was being updated. The spread in review dates should have flagged my attention, but nothing in the reviews prepared me for this experience. First off, The Brewery is not that easy to find (no signs) Fortunately a local pointed me to "The Food Hub" which was marked, flags & all, and once we found the road it turns out the food hub is a large industrial building with various bays. Carrig Brewing is in one bay others include a distillery & Lough Allen Foods, among other tenants. When we finally met up with someone in the brewery, they knew nothing of any tours or tastings! We never saw anything that matched the photo's posted on Trip Advisor; which really looks like a microbrew tasting area. We did eventually hook up with Nick & he apologized for the confusion, but he told us that tours & tastings had to be arranged in advance. Nothing in the 6 reviews on Trip Advisor indicates this. Nick did recommend we head down to the Lough Allen Hotel, and his wife Jennifer was the bar maid there & they did have Carrig beers on tap. Their website has been updated & so if you plan to visit you can ensure a better experience by signing up & scheduling a "tour & tasting," in advance. From their website: ALL TOURS MUST BE PRE-BOOKED BY EMAIL OR TELEPHONE. Unfortunately this info wasn't available to me at the time.

As we are a working brewery, pre booking is required. We are not able to facilitate walk ins. I hope you can visit us again and enjoy the experience that we offer our visitors.

We visited the Carrig Brewing Company on the second day of our stay at the Lough Allen Hotel and Spa. We booked the tour before we left home and were the only two people on the tour. This tour is a not to be missed experience, very enjoyable, Mark who took us on the tour was very friendly and explained everything, the other two members of staff we were introduced to were also very friendly and welcoming. The beer tastes great.

We visited here on the last day of our holiday to partake of the tour. We were lucky as we were the only 2 booked for our time slot so we had Martin's full attention. The tour lasts about an hour ans walks you through each step of the brewing process and on through carbonation, kegging and bottling.

As this is still very much still a relatively small operation, the tour is conducted at coalface level rather than from a distance, so it feels more hands on which adds ti the experience.

For those still wondering, yes there is a chance to sample sonme of their fine product and also learn about new products coming to market.

Thanks to Martin for a very detailed and enjoyable tour. If you have the time it is worth doing.

I recently visited here on a stag party and all the staff of Carrig Brewing Company couldn't have been nicer. We got a great tour of the brewery and all the staff were very willing to chat all things beer. They were also very generous in letting us sample their "product"!! Couldn't recommend this place enough.

We were looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon. We were the only people on the tour which is a shame as people are missing out. The Californian head-brewer knew was so passionate and this was clear from he excitable attitude when explaining a new brew he is experimenting with. This passion is emulated by the staff. The young lad the conducted the tour was very knowledgable and great fun. Oh.... And the beer is great! Amazing value for money.
