Olivastri Millenari - a group of wild olive trees, now protected in a nature reserve. The oldest olive tree is fenced off as it is nearly 4000 years old. Amazing.

We visited here as part of a day trip we planned that also included Tempio Pausanias and Nuraghe Maiori. We enjoyed all three and we recommend. If we had only visited any one of them then our children (13,10 and 8) would have complained that...More

It's amazing to touch a living thing that survived for thousands of years....well, you can't touch the one that is 4.000 years old, but you can hug his younger brothers (2.000 and 1.000 years old!!)

Although the infrastructure around the trees is limited (some boards explaining the characteristics and history of the...More

We visited from the other side of the lake and the journey was approximately 30km from the hotel Valkrana. Nourists books or signs along the way indicated a fee to see these trees and we were not convinced it was legitimate as it was just...More

Beautiful and ancient olive trees set overlooking a lake. You can admire the largest and oldest from afar - it's too fragile for people to approach. You can get under the younger (1000+ years) and gather some seeds from the ground if you want. Admission...More

I am a self-described tree-hugger and this is truly one of my favorite places in the entire world! It is quite amazing to be able to see trees that are between 3,000-5,000 years old and which are still bearing fruit! These magnificent trees are well...More
