A top quality late 19th century French fortification that gives one a good insight into the different styles of French forts. Very different from the Sere de Revieries type design and nothing like the Verban citadel designs. Please do not miss it it is very well done and organized. The visit is not so long and offers a very nice glance at the conditions in the fort

This fort was taken by the Germans in 1914. It has been restored and is a very good museum now, giving lots of views of life in WWI. We were there with French school children, who enjoyed the visit as much as we did.

I am sure that when it is completed, it will be fine. Its a but stuck in the middle of nowhere, even local workers a mile away did not know where it was. Although it was officially open, there was nobody there, we had a good look round and then someone saw us, copped us for 5 euros each, turned... More
