This was the birthplace of St Linus, the first Pope after the Apostle Peter....the altar and pulpit are splendid and there is an abundance of paintings...savour it slowly

This church dates back to the 14th century. By Italian standards it is simple, yet has a lot of paintings and statues. It is a lovely place to visit while in Volterra.

It would be easy to overlook this cathedral as compared with the grand facades we have seen in other parts of Italy it is quite modest. Inside is another story. Again our eyes were drawn upwards to frescos and art works.
