Driving from Florence to Tuscany, stopping in Volterra for lunch on the terrace and view of the ruins. The drive was beautiful, lunch at I Ponti Volterra Bistrot with amazing view on the terrace and house wine. Short walk through the town and ruins before...More

The vast majority of the site can be viewed from above but, for the few Euros extra it's worth walking down to the site and walking around. This isn't the most impressive Roman site, but still important and for those interested in history, it will...More

On a warm night, you could easily imagine actors, spectators coming in and out of this place, and in the surroundings, the lively activities of a Roman city. Really inspiring

Great look into the past. Walking along the seats of the theatre you’ll wonder how people used to enjoy their local legends perform. It’s interesting to see the structures people used to build back before Christ.

Volterra is surrounded in history, and this is a great site from the Romans. Not a lt in terms f exhibits to go along with it, just some informational signs scattered around, but definitely worth a visit for the modest fee.
