Peaceful escape from traffic, noise, heat, crowds
May 2019 • Solo
This is the "central park" of Viareggio - a huge wooded park with paths and native trees/plants as well as kids' carnival rides, bike rentals, restaurants and more. Take a picnic or go for a stroll - you'll see locals doing the same thing. Very peaceful. Feels safe and family-oriented in the times I've walked through.

Real italian and fun for the kids

Here are the locals, not only the tourist. Bikes and small cars to rent for children. Coffee and icecream. Playgrounds and carousells.

Great place for shade, for a picnic and to relax
Jun 2018 • Family
This is a great place to escape the hot sun and busy seafront, there are plenty of park benches and picnic tables in the sun or shade. If you want to be more energetic there are bikes to hire and play areas for children. There is also a lovely bakery (Beppe's Bakery) at the back of the park where you can buy your picnic lunch.

Shady walk
Jul 2017 • Family
This park provides a nice shady place to walk away from the traffic - unless you count bikes! There are stalls and a few cafes, currently a street food festival for a few evenings where the food choices are varied and excellent. Bicycle hire, children's pony rides, mini-golf, small fairground rides and trampolines. Also makes a good path towards the train station. I haven't found the duck pond yet.

A woodland with mainly evening entertainment
Jul 2017 • Couples
A long shady walk under cover of trees. Quite nice if you can avoid the bikes which dominate the footpath through here.. There are a few cafes and several places to hire bikes if you want to ride. Most of the children's entertainment seems to begin early evening.

Entrance not far from the main shopping center and market.

Great place of shade and activites in the city

The pine would has fairground attractions, bars and kiosks, crazy golf, pony rides and tennis. There is a network of tracks through the wood. There a re 2 bike hire places. The first you arrive at from the Via Amerigo Vespucci end is the one we used with hire at 4,5,6,8 and 12 Euro for 1, 2, 3 hour and half/ full day. Bikes vary in styles and are well maintained and open 0800-2200. The other one looked good too.

A Cooling Walk
Jun 2016 • Couples
This park was only a five minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to explore it. It's a great place to have a long, leisurely walk through the woods, or indeed hire a bike, or go for a run, as the shade of the trees gives you some respite from the hot sun. There is a carousel and small children's rides to keep them amused, which I believe incur a small charge. Otherwise, a free attraction and well worth a visit. I felt completely safe both times we walked through it.

Nice park to go with children, you can hire a bike, but it's also very pleasant for walks in a nice nature in the Pineta.

A little tired, but lots of great amenities for toddlers and young families
May 2016 • Family
We really enjoyed the park and visited most days during our stay in Viareggio. Sometimes just on our walk to the promenade, other times to hire bikes or to visit the ducks & turtles. Our little girl was 18 months and there was lots to keep her entertained and everything was very reasonably priced, a spin on the little train for €1.50 included entry to a great toddler play area. Lots of great bike hire places, providing all sorts of bikes,
The duck pond was a bit tired and could do with a good clean up, as could the various streams which looked stagnant. But overall we found the park to be pleasant and very safe .
It's a great amenity, could just do with a lick of paint to freshen it up
Pop across the street to Nilos for amazing gelato!
