Nice and pictoresque place

The old town was really nice and quiet during the siesta. Nice looking restaurants and ice cream and coffee bars around the area.

It was quite good to walk around Old Town in a Sunday and sunny morning. You have the opportunity to see the way of life there, enjoy a espresso and find excellent options for great camera shots.

Terracina Alta is the old town & here you can walk along medieval streets and lanes that are more than a thousand years old. Friendly people, narrow quiet streets, good local food. If you want to talk a one or two day sojourn out of Rome to find a lovely little city that is real, Terracina is a great choice.

Stayed in accommodation for 2 weeks in the old town and it is much cooler than the lower town both in terms of the breeze as you sit outside the numerous bars and cafés and also as it has the 1st century Roman Centro and mediaeval square and the municipal building built in fascist Mussolini era. Check out the mortar... More

A fascinating variety of different architecture in this quaint city. I loved walking through the narrow streets and walking up the steps leading to ever smaller streets. The views for the top are really impressive. We ended our tour with drinks in the main square watching rehearsals for the Mr and Miss Terracina competition which was to be held that... More

A lovely area to eat in the evening, with a couple of really excellent restaurants. Terracine is popular with Italians but you won't find many English/German/Russian tourists so it's a great place to visit for a sense of real Italy.

Terracina has a very nice old town and it is not too touristy. Very interesting buildings and lots of friendly people. Very good ice cream at the church!

Lots of old buildings, but go on Thursday because the biggest open air market in Italy hits town that day with loads of fantastic bargains..and don't be afraid to barter...all the latest fashions from Rome at half the prices if you do barter !

Alta Terracina is the old Terracina and it a masterpiece of preRoman and Medieval architecture. Step back in time and walk up and down the narrow streets. Nothing bigger than a small Fiat would fit through some of the streets. I have been back many times and will be back again next year!

A nice little bar on the main square. A great selection of wines and beers. Outside seating so you can people watch. Nicely decorated with 60s memorabilia.
