Ancient gate near Ristorante Gino
May 2019 • Couples
There are four gates similar to this in Sulmona, which is an amazing town to walk around, as it is flat and you come across ancient monuments like this all over the town. Italians really respect, love and are so proud of their history.

Make sure to see it from the outside of the city
Apr 2019 • Couples
This is the best preserved entrance gate to the historic town. The side of the city is not that nice, but the other side is well worth seeing, and is made of 2 differently coloured bricks. Supposedly Roman stones were incorporated, but we did not discover them. Worth walking to it from the more centrally located historic monuments, but the whole historic town is small.

AT THE END OF CORSO OVID
Apr 2016 • Couples
At the end of Corso Ovid is Porta Napoli, built 14th century. It was the southern gateway to the medieval town. It was formerly called Porta Nova. Be sure to view both sides, as the facade that faces Corso Ovid is less ornate than the other side.
