The best parts of Sulmona are the people. Take the people in the Tourist Information Office They are truly remarkable; kind, friendly and informative.

Our cooking experience with Antonella and Nonna was a highlight of our small group tour to Abruzzo. We learned so many tricks and techniques to making the perfect pasta and sauce - as well as other delicacies - and had such a feast afterwards. It was wonderful, also, to go for a postprandial passeggiata in beautiful Sulmona. I highly recommend this - and look forward to returning.

Me and my husband and another couple did the foody tour. Even my husband was born in Sulmona it was an amazing experience, we both learn thing we didn't know. Food tasting were great and owners were very friendly. Our guide Susana did an excellent job explaining everything and giving us historic hints of our whereabouts. Great tour. It is a wonderful way to discover this gorgeous town. Highly recommended

Wow, what a find!!! We wanted a small Italian city, unspoiled, with a strong local culture. 1) the people are really friendly, accommodating and speak enough English to travel. 2) the city still has its existing medieval wall surrounding the whole city with numerous fountains and many local shops. It's walkable and bikeable. 3) within 4 to 5 km outside of town are pristine mountain villages with incredible views, wonderful churches, and great food... all bikable. (Rent an electric bike!) Easily accessible by train or bus, you don't need a car, and if you want to blend in for a while this is the place to stay put. I'm nervous about writing this review because, there are Not many overseas tourists and in some ways, I want to keep this special place of Italy in Abruzzo to myself. We plan to come back here often.

Thank you for your review! We are actually a business, and don't represent the city itself, but we appreciate your kind words nevertheless. Do please spread the word - we promise we won't let Sulmona get overrun with tourists!
