Beatiful place with charming villages
Aug 2020
The Valle Vigezzo is a beatiful Valley with an entrance in Italy and another in Switzerland. It is a fantastic place both in summer than in Winter. In summer there is a lovery cycling/walking road in the woods that connects most of the villages. The same road in the winter months is a perfect crosscountry ring.
From the valley it is possible with a cable-car to reach La Piana where downhill skiing is possible. In the valley there are many chaming villages.
The altitude is not very high and many vegetation is present, so also in the very hot summer days it is possible to find a spot in the shadow.

Picturesque Alpine Valley
Aug 2019
Santa Maria Maggiore is a very beautiful little town with amazing grandiose Alpine houses, beautiful church and a stunning little Piazza with top class restaurants and cafes.
The cable car to La Piana takes to 2000 metres in half hour of spectacular ride.
At the top you can sample the most delicious polenta and antipasto boards with delicious salumi and cheeses typical of Valle Vigezzo, including the award winner lightly smoked prosciutto and local pane Nero after your tracking before you descend.

Amazing village of delights
May 2019 • Friends
Santa Maria Maggiore is a small town in the Italian Alps. It is absolutely gorgeous with a friendly culture. Walking around brings delight at every turn. The church is stunning inside, like a mini Sistine Chapel. The piazza is inviting. There is a museum celebrating the chimney sweeps who lived here. Well worth a day to visit.
