The heart of Reggio Emilia
Jun 2019 • Couples
The most important square of Reggio Emilia city, including the Duomo, the city hall and many other interesting buildings. When visited, one of these buildings was under reconstruction, probably the square will be even nicer after this is completed.

A must see piazza in the heart of the city
Apr 2017 • Family
This is the biggest piazza in the Downtown with the Basilic and some nice and impressive buildings. The mosaic of the square are being restored and will be finished soon.

The very centre of Reggio Emilia
Apr 2016 • Friends
Piazza Prampolini is the main square of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of the old town.
The rectular "piazza" (the italian word for "square") is delimited by the Town Hall (Municipio - with its marvellous "Sala del Tricolore"), the Duomo (the Cathedral) and the oldest bank in town, in accordance to the medival tradition of having the buildings of the political, religious and financial powers facing one-another in the same place.
Every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornig the square hosts a lively street market.
The most interesting things to visit are the "Sala del Tricolore" (where the first Italian parlament voted on the adoption of the national flag in 1797), the "Museo del Tricolore" (the museum of the Italian flag), the Duomo and the Baptistry with their ancient mosaics

City center
Aug 2015 • Couples
This is the center of Reggio Emilia, with important buildings around. It is smaller than usually the Italian center squares, it means also much more quiet.

Italian face.
Apr 2015 • Couples
Our hotel had a window overlooking this Piazza. In fact my hotel, the Hotel Posta, is part of one of the interesting buildings in this piazza, the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo. Across the piazza is another historic building, Palazzo del Comune, where the Italian flag was born. I guess overall not as grand as some of the more well known piazza's in Italy. But it has a lot of charm and hardly any tourists. We were lucky to be here on a Friday when a market takes over the square. Its a real local's market. This square is the heart of Reggio Emilia.

A pleasant walk in the historical centre
Jul 2014 • Business
The centre of Reggio Emilia is silent, well kept, easy to visit on a bike. Piazza Parmpolini hosts a lively market open in the morning. Everybody is kind and helpful as the city is not very visited by tourists
