A smaller, more restrained version of the Duomo
Jun 2021
It is near the lower end of Piazza Duomo in Piazza Pola. It looks like a smaller version of the Duomo. We liked the more intimate feel and the application of the Baroque style in a more restrained manner.

Not far away from the famous church there is a charming old square with the lovely church of San Giuseppe. Have the walk, it is worth it.

Worth a visit
Sep 2019
In Piazza Pola, a bit further down from the duomo, this church is well worth a visit. It has a lovely baraoque facade which is a little like the duomo but on a smaller scale. Lovely interior.

Lovely church
Dec 2019
While some people may consider the Chiesa San Giuseppe to take a second place to the Duomo, it is lovely in it's own way. Located on a smaller piazza a couple of blocks away from the Duomo, it should definitely be visited and enjoyed.

Beautiful and imposing
Oct 2019
Superb baroque examle. Worth going in when open. This church is an example of a class above some other Sicilian churches. The exterior architecture is a superb example.

More sophisticated than the Duomo
May 2019
Even though the facade is smaller and less spectacularly placed than that of the Duomo, it looks to us, more sophisticated, as it rises inexorably in serpentine tiers. Loved the canopied window above the door. The elliptical interior has particular charm

there are nice things in baroque art after all
May 2018 • Solo
There's not much i like from the baroque period (besides maybe Scarlatti), but the baroque churches of Sicily are different, less cluttered, yet more elegant.
The chiesa San Giuseppe has a bright and delicate interior. Very soothing.

Montalbano Tour
Sep 2016 • Family
As a huge fan of Inspector Montalbano we travelled all across the South East of Sicily in search for Montalbano locations. We went to Ragusa as it was near to where we were staying. Upon arrival at Ragusa we immediately noticed the church and where we had seen it before, Inspector Montalbano. We went inside the church, and wow it was stunning, it was preserved magnificently. A trip well worth it and I would suggest if you are a fan of Montalbano to go on the Montalbano tour.

The church was open
Mar 2017 • Couples
It seems that in March, which is a bit early in the season i believe, few churches are open to the public. San Giuseppe was and I was pleased to visit it.
