There's not much i like from the baroque period (besides maybe Scarlatti), but the baroque churches of Sicily are different, less cluttered, yet more elegant. The chiesa San Giuseppe has a bright and delicate interior. Very soothing.

The Sicilian churches never cease to amaze me with their architecture and gorgeous attention to detail.

As a huge fan of Inspector Montalbano we travelled all across the South East of Sicily in search for Montalbano locations. We went to Ragusa as it was near to where we were staying. Upon arrival at Ragusa we immediately noticed the church and where...More

It seems that in March, which is a bit early in the season i believe, few churches are open to the public. San Giuseppe was and I was pleased to visit it.

After a walk from our hotel in Ragusa Superiore to Ragusa Ibla we needed a place to cool down and rest, and the tranquil Chiesa San Guiseppe was ideal. Outside was another Montelbano backdrop that we enjoyed seeing in the bright sunshine with glorious blue...More

A nice church with a great facade in a quiet little square. The interior is (in my opinion) nicer than the Duomo up the hill. Well worth a visit

A gentle walk through the old town & you come across the Chiesa San Giuseppe, free to access. An ice cream to cool off between the buildings & an easy, yet lazy afternoon.. Enjoy, I know I did

We enjoyed this Chiesa MORE than the Duomo. The facade is gorgeous and the piazza SO pleasant. Take a deep breath when walking the town and savor the moments you are here.

The exterior is more interesting with its concave surfaces and projections than that of the better known cathedral. I'd give it a top rating if the interior were more interesting. Grab an espresso and contemplate this gem.
