My impression --- lots of 20th century fakes
Nov 2019
Our guide took us to Mr. Appiano's home. I was skeptical of the family lineage and finery that were being touted. To my somewhat trained eye, the "antiques" appear to be very poor 20th century copies of garish 18th century furniture and paintings. The "Maestro" played for us on a piano that was totally out of tune, which made me wonder how a musician could have a piano that was untuned. After about 15 minutes in the house, my eyes started to water and it was difficult to breathe...there was dust (and I assumed dust mites) everywhere. Others in my group who had the same allergic reaction from the house.
The "Maestro" seems to be a dear old man, but I think this museum is a sham.

Our guide told us about the Casa Museo Appiano which owner 's name is Appiano. His house is a museum with a lot of his life and his past . it's about a person so passionate for music and art and I got completely involved . First we saw all the impressive pictures, paintings, classic and elegant furniture, then we sat down very comfortably and watched him while he was performing beatifuly, naturally, classic and famous music .The piano sounded like his passion and I had to hold my tears because he is not only an artist yet playing with his heart and soul.

Unusual place to visit
Apr 2015 • Friends
We had a great guide from Noto, Luca Licitra of Turneinsicily.com. He knew several off the beaten path places to visit. He took us to see Casa Museo Appiano. It was a richly baroque home lived in by a retired pianist who of course played the piano for us and showed us around his home that he shares with his mother. There are also some very detailed nativity models which depict whole villages, a large gilt clock and a lot of interesting furniture of the period. Worth the visit, thank you!

This was a beautiful home with many beautiful items. The owner played piano music for us and he was very pleasant. We had a translator so could understand his conversation his mother of 95 lives on one side of the house. Very interesting

Great pianist

Mr Appiano played three pieces on the grand piano in his museum/home and thus set the stage for viewing his wonderful collection of art. For art enthusiast this a must stop.
