The origins of the palace, known also as the Palazzo degli Anziani, date back to the 13th century, when the city became an important and flourishing town with a need of a representative building for the city officials. Very interesting feature of the palace is the pathway that connects the palace with the cathedral over a bridge. It is an elegant building and a viewpoint at the central square.
