Orvieto Entry
Apr 2019
This is where the adventure of Orvieto begins--Great restaurants. From traditional Italian to Italian with and edge.
The ancient church in worth a view for the comparison with the most beautiful Duomo in all of Italy.

Pigeon Holes
Jun 2019 • Couples
A short walk up these stairs gives a nice view of the market square. The circular decor on the end of the building are fully populated with pigeons. Hence pigeon holes.

Beautiful Palazzo
Apr 2019 • Couples
The 13th century Palazzo anchors a piazza of the same name. It is believed to have been built on a former papal palace from 1157.

It has evolved over the centuries. The bell tower was added in 1315. That bell is now in the Torre del Moro. The upper levels were added in 1472.

It has served as a private residence, a government center, and as university buildings.

It was restored in the late 1980s and is currently home to a conference center.

Just beautiful!
Jul 2018 • Couples
The clean geometric forms and authoritative mass of this 13th century civic palace are simply beautiful! The piazza in which it is located is also charming and the site of a bustling market on Thursday and Saturday mornings. There are also several really great cafés in the piazza. This was one of our favorite settings in Orvieto, a couple of blocks off the well-trod tourist path.

Beautiful Palazzo
Jun 2018 • Couples
This is a beautiful palazzo and a lovely square that is used by the locals, as well as by buskers. Nice to sit in a bar/cafe and enjoy the view of the palazzo.

Cool little area and thriving with people...
May 2017 • Couples
This was a cool little plaza that seemed to cater to all different ages and tastes. On one end we saw a small group of boys kicking around a soccer ball....on the other end they were setting up for a large Saturday evening concert. In-between, we saw a couple of different cafes that people were enjoying the day with expressos and cappuccinos.

All-in-all, not as big as some of plazas in the other nearby towns...but still a cool little area that the town uses to it's potential.

Went for the Local Market
Apr 2017 • Couples
The local market assembles in the piazza on Thursday and Saturdays. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetable. Meat and cheese trucks and flea market finds. We didn't go inside but the outside architecture was nice but nothing spectacular.
