Intersting place, thopugh only a small fraction is shown (around 1200 caves have neen detected in Orvieto so far...). The caves date back at least to the Etruscans. visits to Orvieto Sotterranea are all guided. Entrance fee: 6Euro, every 15mins a tour starts, group size:...More

This tour was pretty lame. There are a thousand ancient Etruscan caves under Orvieto and this was like visiting the janitor closet in Buckingham Palace. We found some more exciting cave moments just exploring the city on our own. I highly recommend instead doing -...More

Well worth he trip down into the caves with a guided tour. Very interesting history. Buy a combined ticket from the tourist information office. It is worth seeing as many of the site as you can. Works out cheaper.

The story of Orvieto and the rock and the caves and tunnels is very well presented and told in this tour. Just about one hour and engaging the whole time. It's only a couple of caves with a few artifacts, but definitely worth it for...More

Great experience here. See and visit the complexity of a city below Orvieto is amazing. The guide, Silvana, was superb. The tour is ok for anyone in a decent fit. It’s cold inside, don’t forget a jumper.

Booked the same morning at short notice. Book at the small office opposite the Duomo, and next to tourist info. Only €5-6 each. They took us to a couple of big caves and shared some of the local history from Etruscan to medieval and even...More
