A delightful place of historical importance
Aug 2020 • Solo
Il Broletto is a collection of buildings of differing architectural styles of varying ages that surround an imposing inner courtyard. The Palace of the Paratici is stunning with its layered arches. Within Il Broletto is an art gallery as well as a cafe. It is a delightful place of historical importance which is a must see whilst in Novara.

Excellent risotto in nice setting
Sep 2019 • Family
I booked a table on the morning for lunch at 12.45 (in Novara it is important to book in advance in touristy or places used by locals). Maybe the best risotto mantecato con parmigiano had in a long while. Under the arches enjoying the slight breeze on a warm day

Since it's restoration there's always something very clever in its usage...

Overhyped

Il Broletto is a lovely courtyard. There is no doubt about that. But it's just a courtyard. And there are far nicer courtyards throughout Italy. Take a look. Better yet, have a coffee at the small cafe at the side of the courtyard. It's delicious.

A Registry Office Wedding
Dec 2014 • Family
We got married here, My UK family and friends were blown away that such a venerable public building should still be in use for the purpose it was built.
This is not a rusty, dusty museum, but a vibrant everyday part of Novara Society. The architecture and frescos have been thoughtfully maintained without losing their antiquity to renovation. You truly feel like a part of history, and that you are in some small way a part of future history.
The Registrar was very kind and understanding (we had forgotten the rings!) and personally presented us with an English copy of Shakespeare's 116th sonnet - a lovely personal touch.

Another fine building in Novara

As like the Basilica di San Gaudenzio there was an air that the city wants their tourist informed and maintain these sites to give a feeling of what our ancestors saw.
