I decided to leave one star just because the staff have been absolutely nice to us and available to talk. Me and my girlfriend had an afternoon free so we decided to call and book an appointment for a "Romantico relax di coppia". At the reception, we left our datas and they took us in the dressing room. First surprise, toilets were dirty and there was no shower. We decided to move on and get in the so called "aromatic shower". Warm water that had to be activated twice to really get the warm water and the nozzles were crusted with calc. In front of those you could see the sauna and the turkish bath. Literally two plastic cabins for one person like the ones you can put in a room at home. We laughed at it and moved over our "plan" that suggested the relaxing chairs room. Four warm bed in a cold room were all the noise from people in the structure could come in, fullfilled with visible electricity devices and a constant noise coming from outside. We finally decided to get into this famous "moon cave". A hole filled with salty water, not even that warm, with little spotlights all around and two hydromassage that once activated were so noisy you couldn't even think about relaxing. The "pool" was also full of pieces of the brick walls that was coming apart and the part of walls made of glass were full of leftover salt. Useless to say that we ran away before getting the massage and face care that was in our pacchetto. We felt very sorry for the receptionists that were really nice and they really helped us to get in contact with the responsable.

Beautiful Walled Town
Dec 2018 • Couples
We visited on a cloudy day mid December. We walked through the beautiful streets, tasted wine, ate great pizza and enjoyed time at the Christmas Market in town. As we were driving out of town the sun appeared and cast an unbelievable glow on the town. We have been to Italy many times but this was our first time to Montepulciano. It is worth taking the time to visit.

Don't be alarmed: the spa is located inside of the wellness center/hospital. We arrived to a parking lot full of seniors and we're quite certain what was going on. We booked the Lunar Grotto, two 90-minute massages, and a salt scrub for my husband. The lunar grotto is the height of cheesiness and they do love to stick you in the chromatherapy room. I was very specific about wanting a firm massage and was given someone who spent 30 minutes on my face and rubbed lotion on the rest of my body. My back and shoulders were given no attention as requested. On the other hand, my husband loved his salt scrub and was given the stronger masseur. When out treatments finished and we were dressed to leave the ENTIRE facility was empty. Not one soul was around, no one from the spa was there to see us out. It was such a bizarre experience and the worst massage of my life. Don't go here.

We visited this as part of our tour (optional ) but only 20 mins from the hotel by local bus, well worth it.

One of our favorite hill towns
Sep 2013 • Couples
We were driving thru the Tuscany region and ended up in this beautiful and friendly place. We parked down the hill at the winery and took the bus up to the Grand Piazzo. Had lunch in a delightful restaurant on the square, enjoyed the church and walked backed down through all the neat shops. Ended up back at the winery and bought Cianti and Pecorino cheese that we enjoyed for dinner. Nice stop on our tour.

"Wow" ways it all
May 2013 • Couples
First, it's easy to get to because the roads are well signed. Two, you pass through some incredible sights on the way there. Three, it's easy to park the rental car. Four, it's small enough to see a lot in a relatively short time. And fifth and best of all the scenery is incredibel. The wine in some of the shjops can be a bit pricey. But who cares when you can take home some of the most awe-inspiring photos you will ever take.

Fantastic Montepulciano!
Mar 2013 • Friends
Just wander the beautiful streets, go inside the stone churches and see the wonderful store front windows. Please don't forget to enjoy some of the wonderful wine and do take some home. What a lovely visit we had just South of Siena in this gorgeous town. Go down below to the Sanctuary of San Biagio. We loved this gem of a town just 15 min from Pienza which was also lovely. Two in one day. It was great.

Sunrise, sunset
Aug 2011 • Friends
This is one of the only places in the world where you will see the most beautiful sunrise in the morning and a few yards further and 14hours later, you will see the most beautiful sunset.
