Montepulciano is about an hour drive from Siena...we had a car so I do not know other means of transportation. It is small but offers expansive views of the Tuscany landscape..It is a long walk from parking but it was an enjoyable walk..make sure you get...More

The piazza in Siena is much larger, indicating the pecking order of town size. Visiting Montepulciano gives you the opportunity to compare size of central squares. This famed hilltop village, less than a quarter the population of Siena, had kids skate boarding. It was not...More

We had a good time. Nice old buildings, shops, restaurants and Musea. If you like culture mixed with good wine and food this is the place to be.

For sure, you deserve it, after all the climbing done. But this is really worth it. Quaint cathedral and « castle » and if you are lucky, a medieval event during August.

Montepulciano is a pretty little town with a stunning location. There are a great many things to do starting off in the Piazza Grande.

In July it can be very hot but this small town is not overwhelmed with the crowds that plague the rest of Tuscany . The buildings are beautiful and quiet and open for you to explore in peace for as long as you like .

My wife and I did a quick whistle stop tour of Tuscany during June this year and loved it, we're going to make it a regular June thing from now on and we'll defiantly come back to Montepulciano as we need to spend more time...More

The pinnacle of an uphill walk through the streets of Montepulciano. Its up hill all the way but well worth the effort even in 38 degrees of heat. Surely one of the most iconic Piazzas in Italy

We had a great experience using a company in Cortona for our visits around Tuscany. “Together in Tuscany”. Check out their website and contact them. They will do a great job putting visits around the area together for you.
