It's not expensive and not a long walk from the train station (centro and also terme) it's an old style cable car that goes up to Montecatini Alto. As you're moving up, you'll start to see the city in panoramic view, which was very nice....More

Fun ride to alto part of city. The ride is not cheap, 7 euro round-trip, but the sights above and the trip itself make it worthwhile.

Make sure to check this out on your way to Montecatini Alto. This is an old style cable car. A fun little ride up the mountain.

If you're anywhere near Montecatini Terme, you must go on the funicular railway. This is quite an experience, topped off by a walk around Monticatini Alto and the cost is very small - euros 14 for 2 return.

I timed it at 14 minutes. I took a short cut that cut maybe 2 minutes off the typical time.
