Great skiing area for families
Mar 2019 • Family
Area offers fantastic skiing for many types of skiers, but with the long sunny slopes and good restaurant options it is perfect for families. But not to forget, there are some parts that offer nice rides also for the more advanced skiers! Try Rifugio Passo Valles for a lunch break with excellent food and friendly service!!

Ski without limit

Excellent slopes, well designed lifts, excellent views over Dolomites. From Col Margherita is an incredible view over Marmolada, Pale di San Martino, Civetta, on so on.

Great scenery large crowds

We skied San Pellegrino in early February 2019 and the conditions were good but not great. At the top there was was some ice because high winds blew the snow cover off. On our second day the winds were so bad they closed the mountain. I can not fault the resort for a freak wind storm but when you ski above the tree line it happens. The trails every morning were well groomed and the employees were pleasant but spoke no English. To get up the mountain the lines for the gondola were long and there was no line discipline like the American West but once on top of the mountain the lifts were fine. I would go back again in a heart beat but next time I will check to make sure the schools are in session. A third of the crowd we encountered were students on break.

Very good skiing experience
Jan 2019 • Family
Lovely, picturesque place.
Located on a wide area the ski resort offers numerous selection of ski tracks easyli accessible by different ski lifts.
The area is large and not easy as usual to be learned then save some time learn the map and connect the dots.
All tracks perfectly prepared oblivious to weather conditions.
Frequent bar and restaurants offer opportunity to recharge and warm up.
If you prefer to start from the high hill do not stop at the first parking lot.

Picturesque ski area
Feb 2018 • Family
This area is really good for intermediate and beginner skiiers. There are a few good black runs too. The ski school is good and lots of activities for kids and beginners. A few good barsrestaurant at the base and on the mountains. There are many wide and scenic slopes that was a pleasure to ski. No real bottlenecks at the lifts even though we visited when the resort was completely full. There was excellent snow and the slopes are very well looked after. Recommended for families.

Panoramic views and excellent slopes if there isn't strong winds

Alpe Lusia-San Pellegrino- Falcade together is a medium sized ski resort. We were there at the beginning of March last year and this year as well. There were lots of snow while in other places of the region the meadows were seen next to the slopes (e.g. in Groden).
Last year we chose to spend 2 days in this ski area. The 1st day it was foggy all day and snowed heavily and the second day because of a heavy snowfall the previous night the Le Buse cabin lift from Falcade didn't work so we went to Bellamonte. So last year we had only bad experience. However we gave another try this year and we didn't regret it. The first day we spent there was perfect! Sunny weather and perfect snow conditions except the lower parts of the run that goes down to Falcade. We loved the slopes that start from Col Margherita. The Alpe Lusia side is the least exciting but the most reliable weather wise.
The best bar is on the Falcade side at the top station of the Le Buse cabin lift. Reasonable price and generous portions and drinks.
The downside of the San Pellegrino part is its height and probably the relatively flat top ( i think but not sure) which is exposed to strong winds. At a 35-40 km/h wind the big Col Margherita cabin is closed. So when strong winds occur the Falcade and Alpe Lusia parts work separately but the middle part the San Pellegrino- the most beautiful- is closed. We experienced this twice. One day in the afternoon the Col Margherita opened after being closed for most of the day but only the 2 slopes (black and red/black) coming down to the lower station were open. The other day it was completely closed so we skied in Falcade then we drove to Alpe Lusia but there were very strong winds and the slopes were icey.
We always buy a 6 day Dolomiti Superski pass which I recommend to everyone because you have a wide selection of resorts and if the weather is not good you can choose another area.
Bottom line is that this ski resort is really a hit if the weather is pleasant. My advice is to check the weather (bergfex) forecast each morning and the Dolomiti Superski official site where you can get the latest info on open lifts and runs and ski circuits. Choose a sunny day and you will love the runs.

Great weather, lots of snow and sun in February. Slopes were perfectly prepared every day also there's a lot of them. Food in restaurants near slopes was great. And there is very little people skiing.
