It's a great walk around the wall and into the old town. It leads our imagination to what it might be hundreds of years ago. But, it's new at the same time. Young and old people all enjoy the walk every day there.

The area is inside the wall, you can get lost and streets are narrow, not much to see since I think we are off season and not a tourist stop.

This place is simply amazing! The architecture is elegant and very underestimated. The Mura encloses beautifully the historic centre of this beautiful town full of history, but not full of tourist. A perfect alternative for your Tuscany journey.

Grosseto is approached via the buildings that have erupted through the centuries after the wall was built but you enter into the old town through arched walkways and your mind then transcends history.

Just like all medieval European towns, the old city had walls. well preserved, and inside the walls is the old town, similar in feel to Venice, minus the water of course. Lot's of cafes etc. Good to walk about an hour, max.
