This is a very old and very interesting place. Close to Basilica di St Eufemia. With very inriguing double level floors.

An unexpected surpirse

We had no idea that this was here, what a fantastic surprise. The history and the preservation of it is very accessible. We had our 26 year old son with us, and he thoroughly enjoyed it also.

The best part

Along Grado mounmntal part (almost all in the main square), this is the most interesting and secret part. If in Grado you must really visit it.

Early Christian building, somewhat in decay
Jul 2017 • Couples
Ours was a somewhat disappointing visit. To explain.

From right to left there is the Basilica di Sant'Eufemia, the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, and finally the Battistero di Grado.

When we were there the floor was covered in moss and dirt, and I can only think/hope that they were carrying out restoration work.

That said, even in this state the building is free to visit and steeped in history, so worth a look.

It is incredible to think how old these are and how well they have survived centuries use. Well worth a look
