Nice old cathedral
Aug 2019
The cathedral is part of the old town in Grado with a tiny square in front of it. It is worth to go in to feel the atmosphere.

Impressive Basilica
Feb 2018 • Friends
This used to be a Cathedral before the suppression of the Grado Patriarchate, the church was built in the 6th century with a 5th century Baptistery, and a 15th century bell tower. Inside it has many roman columns, a 13th century moorish styled pulpit, and an amazing floor mosaic dating to the 6th century with human and animal figures.

Beautiful historic church
Jun 2018 • Friends
An extraordinary place of history and beauty. I attended a service, which was a special treat and also toured the historic monuments in the cloister area. A must to walk around (when there's no service in progress) and soak up the history, even if you're not overly religious. Note that shoulders should be covered and shorts shouldn't be too short - it is a place of worship.

Must see in Grado
Aug 2018 • Family
Visiting Grado, don’t just spend time in the bars And beaches! The mosaics in this dedicated church and the origin is really overwhelming, also having just visited Aquilea. However, the calm and authentic atmosphere is worth the visit as well.

Another amazing church with so many layers of history
Aug 2018 • Family
Just walking around Grado and entered this church, with so many layers of history, late Roman mosaics, and then church built on top of that. Very special feeling!

Such a beautiful Basilica!
Dec 2017 • Couples
I really enjoy going to this Basilica, the architecture is unique, mosaic floors, wooden beamed ceilings, marvelous pulpit and the statue of Mary is one of my favorites in all the churches I have visited in North Italy. There is a simplicity in the architecture of this Basilica that creates a feeling of tranquility. I enjoy going here so much.

Interesting and Elegant Meeting Place of Many Cultures
Aug 2017 • Couples
Many cultures seem to have come together at this site – pagan Roman, early Christian, modern Roman Catholic. A wonderful spot to spend an afternoon, especially if you want to get out of the sun or do something other than lay on the beach. The Museo Lapidario that can be reached through the church has some interesting pieces, many of which are displayed nicely in both a courtyard garden setting or mounted on the wall for close inspection.
