Mementoes, uniforms, and documents from the Risorgimento period occupy rooms in the museum, followed by a fascinating record of the city during World War II and the activities of local Resistance fighters. The old newspapers provide hours of interest for anyone wanting to know more about the period and the momentous events which took place during and after the Fascist... More

Loved this museum, especially the room given over to Peace Movement activity. In the other rooms there is a huge amount to see but much is in the form of posters, clippings and other written material all of which is in Italian of course. So if you don't read Italian well this is lost on you beyond the images. There... More

This is not a place just to dip into - it requires effort to get the best out of it. The first part of the display is about the unification of Italy in the mid-19thC. More relevant to many tourists (and to academics looking for sources) is the section on the Italian resistance during World War II, and the interim... More

This museum is quite small, with I think about 4 rooms plus an entrance hall. There are uniforms, weapons, a gas mask, and everyday items necessary for a soldier's survival, such as flasks. There is one piece of artillery in the front yard. I thought the various types of hand grenades were quite interesting. The documentation room had posters about... More

A small museum with nothing explained in English. One of the benefits of visiting is to see the inside courtyard to Sociedad with those blank walls that face the streets in Italian towns. Use a myfe card.

The Risorgimento, meaning the reunification of Italy in the middle 1800's, and the world wars of the 20th century are depicted here from the experiences and the perspective of the local population. There are a lot of interesting original documents to peruse as well.

This is a museum devoted to local involvement in the risorgimento and the period between and up to the second world war. It really is for native italian speakers (which I am not). Interesting display of uniforms and posters - but there is too much material for those with little language and time to peruse all the documents.

This place is an amazing amount of material regarding the unification of Italy and the war of liberation from 1943 to 45. It is all in Italian, and although the staff is very helpful and very kind you really need both a working knowledge of Italian and a working knowledge of the unification to benefit from this museum. My skills... More

Very impressive museum with many documents, photos and memorabilia related to the war. They also have a nice exhibit of garments, arms and documents. Enough documents to spend a lot of time if you are doing research.

A wonderful museum, especially the section that deals with the Resistance. There is so much documentation you could spend weeks there, if that is your interest.
