Anna P is correct, Erice is nothing like Eze and some of the shopkeepers do appear disinterested in tourists. NOT ALL though. We encountered a few who were more than happy to showcase local produce and knowledge. But don't be deterred. It's a great place...More

Erice is a small hilltop village with beautiful vistas. We took the funicular for 9€ round trip. The ride up and down was enjoyable offering lovely scenery. The town itself doesn’t have much to offer. The castle can be skipped and many shopkeepers seem annoyed...More

If you don't feel like paying to enter the castle, you'll get the same view and lot less constricted areas to move around here in this beautiful cliffside garden.

At the end of this historic town you find a very nice spot where you can watch to the North, overlooking the sea and peninsula... Great spot , especially at sunset...

Right at the top of town, these gardens provide a great place to go enjoy the panorama, rest a little. You can see the ocean to north and south, Trapani salt pans, the Aegidian islands just offshore and more. Take a sweater or jacket as...More

Went here in January so not much in bloom. Still green in places. Could skip it but it is near an incredible viewpoint, if there is no fog. Would allow 10 minutes here, even if in bloom. Free.

adequate gardens to take in the sights while in Erice. Very historic place and many a photo opportunity of the amazing views. It is a nice starting point to just sit and take in the views before strolling around the town.

As this is on the higher parts of the city it is a great starting point. There is enough shade (which was needed today). Some benches perfect to absorb the great views and start your way down.

A great view over the typical Sicilian landscape: the see, the coast and the countryside! It is completely free and not very crowded: entirely to enjoy!
