Great view, but scary dogs

We went to La Rocca at 5 pm in early August. They do not give back change at the entrance, so make... read more

La Rocca is a must-visit if you have a few days in Cefalù. The view is amazing! You might also catch a glimpse of the goats living on top of La Rocca. Remember to bring a lot of water!

We went to La Rocca at 5 pm in early August. They do not give back change at the entrance, so make sure you bring the exact amount of the entrance fee (4 € per person). The climb up to the level where the cross...More

The first time we went here there had been heavy rain and the site was closed as the paths can be unsafe, 2nd time lucky - worth the entry fee (rather confusing where to pay). Pick a good day weather wise as the views are...More

La Rocca broods mightily over the medieval town of Cefalu. A climb to the top, allow around an hour if you are reasonably fit, reveals interesting archaeological remains and fortifications from ancient through medieval times. Views over the town and across the bay are impressive...More

Great hike for our family - three generations did the full hike in an hour. We went all the way to the top, took pictures at the castle and enjoyed the views from all angles. Went down to the Temple of Diana and to enjoy...More

Nice walk, not very tough. Bring 4 euros in even change for entrance. And water since none is sold there. You reach the steps from piazza garibaldi.

Always uphill with great views getting better and better as you walk ever upwards. From the top you can see both sides of Cefalu, the tourist town and the marina. Worthwhile but choose a cool day or early morning.

The climb is doable for anyone in half decent shape. We saw young families as well as older people up at the summit. We arrived at about 9:30am and in between the climb up, walking around the sites and the walk down we were about...More

This was a fairly intense hike for someone not in the greatest shape, it took about 75 minutes up and 45 down. We did opt to stop at the wall and the temple about halfway up, and that added some time to the hike. The...More

La Rocca is a good local hike with beautiful views over the sea and city. The hike requires good footware and if you are out of shape you should consider taking it a bit slower than the nominated hour each way. Remember to see both...More

As best I recall, there are small signs up from Piazza Garibaldi, or a block north at Via Carbonari. My pics show a staired road up to a pleasant side street which leads to the hike entrance. Very easy, short little up from... More
