Great Experience, Great Views

If you do nothing else whilst traveling around The Dolomites, make sure you visit here. The cable car tales you to the summit some 2950m above sea level. The views from the top are magnificent.

There was a fair bit of snow around when I visited in July, but the temperature at the summit was 17.6 degrees, but actually felt warmer.

The cost of the cable car is 19 euros 50 cents, which reduces to 16 euros if you are in a group of 20.

There is a cafe at the top along with toilet facilities, so you can stay as long as you wish.

Reasonable food at the "top of the world" (well... the Italian Dolomiti anyways...)

Fantastic views and panoramas from this terrazza of the topmost cablecar station (2950m) in the Sasso Pardoi Massif - a world almost perpetually covered in snow (even in summer) with high altitude walking trails (including the EU 7 Long-Distance trail) and with trekking access to many refugios (italian mountain huts) on the Massif. Highly recommended.

Mountain view

Fabulous area in which to enjoy the mountains. We saw older people with camping chairs enjoying the view and small children who seemed to be tasting their first breath of mountain air. A wonderful area in good weather.

Bring warm layers.

Absolutely brilliant - the views are unbelievable all the way around, especially if you have a fine clear day. Something you will not forget.

Do Go - Do View - Do take something warm - Do Explore - but don't eat at the top!

Never thought I would be able to visit - but when an opportunity arose I took it, and what stunning views on the way up and from the top. People were walking up to the top, but we took the cable car, and saw rock climbers also enjoying themselves. The cable car was fast (about 4 minutes), but do take warm weather gear for the summit. Luckily we had already seen a nice restaurant at the bottom, so were not tempted (at all), by the food we saw on picnic tables at the top. The area at the top is safe to continue with your walks - so do explore.

Overwhelming views

The absolutely astounding view over the Val di Fassa - the Fassa Valley. Although tgis is merely a place of scenery and you cannot ski down, it os a must-have-visited place once in the area
We had a few drinks and enjoyed the beautiful blue skies that northern Italy seems to offer us every year ( 15th consecutive year in the Dolomites)

Possibly the best view in the dolomites! You can easily reach to the top of sass pordoi (terrazza delle dolomoti) with the splendid cable-car (funivia pordoi, relatively cheap, large, very fast, panoramic and very stable) which leaves from the pass (the parking at the pass could be difficult, in case parking along the road is in general an option). Stunning view from the top, 360 degrees around. You can stroll around the top cable car station or walk (easy, 20 minutes, but you are at 3000 meters, get dressed properly) to the rifugio forcella pordoi. In both the rifugio and top cable-car station there are simple restaurants, not expensive (considering the location) and of reasonable quality (just don't get sandwiches, spaghetti or other classical italian stuff, it's simply not the place for that, ad you'll be deceived. Go instead for some mountain food, like polenta, canederli or stew. The deer stew, the goulash and the porc shank in the cable car station restaurant were pretty good!).

Fabulous views

Worth the vist for the fabulous views.

Do beware:
1. The restaurant at the top is terrible. One star school canteen slop. Eat at one of the restos at the bottom, or take a packed lunch.
2. The mountain top is snow and ice covered, even in early summer (late June). You will need spikes and sticks to go walking. Otherwise you will Be restricted to the viewing platform.

You are running out of words on the top of the mountain. Amazing view. Don't miss it. Even if the road isn't easy.
