Third week in March there were minimal people on the slopes, no lines, no waiting. Granted, at around 12:00, the show at lower altitudes started to get sticky and then heavy, but the higher slopes were ok. THe overall snow level was low (lowest in years) so some rocks started to show through on the upper slopes, leading to some interesting gouges in my skis.
The slopes are pretty steep, so not a place for beginners of lovers of blue slopes, but if you have some technical skills and are not sporting FIS 220cm skis, you will enjoy the slopes, the nature, the UNBELIEVABLE views, and have a grand time.

Good, even of relatively small, skiing area, in particular slopes between 2000 and 3000 meters. Next to the ticket office is a friendly and efficient ski rental operation with quality gear and reasonable prices. Open until 1800.

I couldn’t believe the queues but I suppose the skiing was very good! The night skiing I particularly enjoyed as you can ski down the black run into the town. It’s a long slope to have open at night. Basically you can ski all the way down from the cable car. I thought the cable car up to the very top was incredibly slow and it’s like a lobster pot- once you are committed to it you cannot easily escape from it and I wasted about half an hour queuing. It’s really for the non skiers!

Slopes are accessible from the town, lots of Hotels and typical Italian shops and cafes. Lots of varied skiing going as high as Bormio 3000. Also good for late season skiers and non skiers as plenty of activities available in the town when the snow has gone in the valley but remains on the mountain. Plenty of mountain bars in which to take a break from the skiing.

There is so much terrain on offer. Lots of on and off piste runs. We were there when the mens downhill was on which was really cool to watch.

Spectacular views of the mountains, great slopes for advanced skiers, good quality equipment rentals with ski storages, no long lines for lifts.

All slopes can be completed in a day and they are a little short. Not many chalet option but the ones that exist are cool.
I think it is a good place to ski for a days trip. If you are staying the night make sure you reserve the restaurants because the good ones are mainly fully booked.

Very interesting ski slopes for beginners and advanced skiers. Beautiful alpine views. The resort is not very extensive and friendly for families with children.

Hello from Montana USA, how hard is it to get accommodations when the World Cup is there? How many people attend?

Guten Tag.

Hello from Kazakhstan!
I have some questions regarding Bormio ski resort. My husband and I have never been in this part of Italy, but we are really attracted by the termes. So, as I am researching on our next ski destination, I am thinking of Bormio. At the same time, if I understand this correctly, if we choose to stay in Bormio [to be close to termes], as far as SKIING goes, Bormio ski resort by itself is not that large.
How is the ski resort connected to the rest of Alta Valtellina region? Do we have to travel to other resorts that are a part of Alta Valtellina region by bus? Or are they connected by lifts?
If they are not connected by lifts and the only way to reach other resorts is by bus, how long does the bus ride take?
Any advice on this matter from people who’ve been to Bormio and Alta Valtellina region to ski will by appreciated!
Thanks,
Larisa

Hello Larisa,
you are going to love our mountain region and the thermal baths!
The ski area of Bormio counts a total of 50 km of ski slopes.
With the same ski pass, though, you can also ski in Santa Caterina (35 km) and in Cima Piazzi-San Colombano (25 km).
The price of the lift ticket includes free bus shuttle to move from our ski area to another.
Distances are minimal: for example, from Bormio Ski to Santa Caterina the ride takes about 20 minutes (12 km); or from Bormio Ski to Cima Piazzi Happy Mountain the ride takes 15 minutes (8 km).
And if you would like to explore more you can also go skiing to Livigno (36 km away from Bormio).
Kind regards
Fabio

Neve tanta in abbondanza e in ottime condizioni !

Hi, I would like to know if WiFi will be provided, as roaming charges are expensive. Thanks

Hello Laurence,
the ski area is nicely covered with WiFi.
Almost all the restaurants/mountain huts provide free WiFi for customers.
