It was a perfect day in June Weather wise it was gorgeous at the top, Temps in the 50's, the views are amazingly beautiful, it's a cyclists playground.

A must do for any cyclist. Just an incredible ride, from the 40 hairpins, to the endless views. WOW, WOW and more WOW is all I can say. Tough ride, especially the last 3km's. Definitely keep something in reserve.

The Stelvio is one of the most iconic climbs of the Giro d'Italia. It rises almost 6,000 ft in 12 short miles, with average grades along two 4.5 mile sections in excess of 10%. It's a rough climb, but the scenery is to die for...More

A great drive in the mountains, lovely views. Great hairpins up and down the road. Can be busy at times, which takes the fun out of it. Non-drivers can also enjoy the road (as long as they don't have a nervous disposition)

Simply stunning, we rode our motorcycles over all the roads in the two days we were there. Fantastic views and great riding.

All the cyclists, motorcycle and classic cars should visit Stelvio once a life. Very busy on Sunday but the rest of the week more quite. And you can enjoy more. Very high recommended

Top tip, the Italian side is show in all the photos but the Swiss side is more open and can be driven a bit more enthusiastically, more safely. The road to Davos is great... My advice would be to travel up from the Swiss alps...More

Few words: good. In the morning bit cold but good for biking. Stelvio is always a must when you are in the area. tomorrow Gavia pass or Val Viola and by the end of summer Mortirolo.

Make sure you beat the heavier traffic, no fun to share this road with buses and motorcycles galore.

I came here at the end of July/Early August and there was snow at the top of the pass. It was very, VERY cold at the top and I would highly advise you layer up. I would post a picture but it wont let me.

Generally speaking: NO. The pass will be closed as soon as snow arrives and in December I guess there is already a lot of snow. It will re open, presumably, some day in May.
