Call it what you might think about, but I looked at it as a study about architectural design and city planning for a public square and surrounding buildings. This might be one way to categorize this place. There is an artistic component. Call it a stunning magnificent central square. Compare it with central squares in many other parts of Italy.... More

This square is entirely paved in travertine, amazing that people will still drop gum on it! Anyway the square is the central spot n the town and well worth a visit, the curiously spaced arches are interesting and the famous cafe is a must.

Piazza del Popolo is one of most beautiful square in Italy and it's true. Nice square surrounded by buildings made in travertine. Two buildings deserve a visit as San Francesco Church and Palazzo dei Capitani. You also have many shops and bars to enjoy the time in the square, don't miss it!!

Stunning central square which in my opinion is probably one of the finest in Italy especially at night when bathed in the glow of the artificial light

Take time to visit this great plaza, you will not regret it. You can enjoy the best wines with the famous fried olives at Cafe Meletti. But also make sure you visit the cathedral.

Piazza del Popolo is considered one of the most beautiful piazze in Italy. Is surrounded by building made in travertine a typical white stone of the province of Ascoli Piceno. This stone looks like the marble but is less expensive and not compact as the marble. In fact you can easily see the thousands of small holes present in the... More

This is a must to see, what an adorable town. It takes you back in time. The buildings were historical and charming. I felt like we were in Roma but no crowds of people rushing around.

Wonderful architecture on this piazza, my favorite of those I've seen in Italy. The piazza is always full of people, and day or night the piazza is lovely. It is a great place to sit and relax. Nice shops on the piazza, and Caffe Melitti is a great place to have a coffee and people watch!

We loved this Piazza both in the daytime and in the evening. It was full of life and we loved just sitting outside the cafes and bars enjoying a quiet drink watching the world go by.

We had dinner here following a recommendation and had an enjoyable evening. Certainly not touristy as the menu is only in Italian and the staff only have limited English, but this is exactly the type of restaurant we like. Almost a lucky dip with the meal but all dishes were tasty and the staff were friendly and efficient despite a... More
