Very interesting exhibition
Sep 2018 • Couples
The interesting exhibition shows the evolution of the communication devices and systems over the years. There are examples of microphones, headphones, gramophones, telegraphs and many other devices that were used as the means of communication. The exhibition also deals with the development of the newspapers and television with some very interesting examples on display. It was a very interesting visit, especially because this is mine line of work...

Technological corner

Wondering through Arezzo we found this little museum. Once inside you'll find wide variety of communication technology. The only problem I had - no english. All the information was in Italian. As my partner works in tele-communication, he knew and could tell a lot about the exhibits and their history. It was a pity not understanding labels ( I should learn italian:) ).

Quirky and old fashioned, but well worth a visit if you're interested in the technology of communication.

We literally stumbled across this museum and took a chance that it might be worth a visit and it was!

Housed in an odd multi-level building it sort of tells the story of the development of communication. I say 'sort of' as there is not a lot of narrative tying the various elements together (morse, telegraphy, recording equipment, telephony, radio, television typewriting and computing) and not much in English. Nevertheless, the visit was well worth while because the range of equipment being displayed was stunning. There were wonderful examples of almost everything you could think of from the earliest sound technology to much later video tape technology. Enough old radios, televisions, microphones, gramophones, typewriters and transmitters to keep anyone happy!

The format reminded me of museums of my youth - it could be so much more with some investment in modern interactive technology to help tell the story - perhaps that's for the future. In the meantime though, don't miss out if your passing through Arezzo (itself a surprisingly pleasant place to visit) the museum is definitely worth a visit.

A wonderful array of historical equipment

Vintage tube radios rub shoulders with digital, state-of-the-art Nagra T digital reel-to-reel recorders in this Museum, set under the antique building hosting the municipality of Arezzo. Prof Faust Casi, the tireless creator and curator of this Museum, is always looking for more vintage or classic equipment to add to this already impressive collection. You will not find only audio equipment, though the core of the collection is dedicated to the machines for the reproduction of sound (and important contributions came by RAI itself); the Museum hosts also cameras, vintage optical equipment, ancient prints and books and so on. A must for any classic audio enthusiast!

This little gem shoud not be missed!
May 2014 • Solo
We have visited this little gem twice. And we will visit gain. There is so much history there, that is impossible to remember everything in one visit. There is history of the early radio, television, wireless communications, optics, movies, early computers... and so much more. The exhibits are of international nature (not just Italian) and you will have a chance to view some very rare American items as well. All exhibits are very well presented and documented. A tremendous cultural/historical visit. I think a very interesting place for teenagers as well!
Don't be fooled by the small narrow entrance. Once inside the place opens up to various levels and the amount of various items is almost countless. The cost of admission is minimal (about $4)

Best museum on radio and Marconi
Nov 2013 • Family
This is an excellent exhibition of early radios and Marconi's experiments before he continued his work in Ireland and England. It should be of interest to every engineer and radio amateur.

fantastic collection and an interesting building
Oct 2014 • Solo
I found this 2 Euro gem To be well worth looking around in. Pictures are allowed, without flash. While the collection was a bit short of computer history, other areas were well covered and thoughtfully displayed. Movie making was particularly I testing, with items from the very first attempts to around the1950s. The rooms used for the collection wind around the building, and make walking through the museum interesting.
it does have a bathroom also.
