vacation at anzio
Sep 2019
Anzio - pro and con. Spent 2 weeks with my family in September. Pretty tiny and ancient town. 50 minutes by train to Rome central station- used this opportunity 3 times. Have visited many places around on a rented car-such as Nemi , Castel Gondollo, Sperlonga, Gaeta etc...
Nice beaches around the town. I would give a 4+. Will recommend to come here in September- no tourists at all and nice Mediterranean cuisine .

Anzio City
Jul 2019 • Couples
Anizo a beautiful city and a lovely place. But only for Italians.

Arrogance in shops, restaurants, hotels, the beach and from all citizens. Here you are not welcome as a tourist.

We have been vacationing for 12 years in Italy. This year we chose Anzio. 7 days where we do not feel welcome.

Beautiful place. It was our one day escape from busy Rome and it was brilliant.
Its just an hour away on the train from Rome, 10 mins walk from the station and you there. Small town close to Nettuno. Couple of beaches, one public and the other is to pay for.
Few restaurants, all Italians. You don’t see tourists there. Clean water, not deep at all. Roman ruins around. Beautiful.

When we were fed up with heat in Rome, we were looking for a day on the beach, we ask local lady in the hotel that we stayed where to go and this was one of the places that she recommended away from the crowd.
It's about an hour drive by train and 10 minutes walk. We ended up on Fanciulla D'Anzio beach, the further side is free most locals goes there, we took chair and umbrella for 20 Euros for the whole day. The water is crystal clear.
This is nice place to spent hot day away from Rome, beer is cheap 1 euro fro 0.6L Moretty, damn, way cheaper than Rome, food is cheap too on the beach. We did not do much of attraction there, but we saw Villa Imperiale right on this beach.

Great day trip in one hour away from the city of Rome
Jun 2019 • Family
The beach is beautiful! The day we went was second opening day for the umbrella service. Three umbrellas cost 21 euro at lido garden. The food there was good also with clam linguini for around 12 euros and a lot of seafood on menu. Be aware that you need to purchase return train ticket from Roma termini because there isn’t a train station at Anzio/colony stop. Only an on/ off platform .

Great day out at the Beach!
Jun 2018
A short and easy trip from Rome to this great beach. Loved the atmosphere of the town. Lifeguards on the beach friendly and helpful. Sand and sea was perfect. We spent hours just floating in the surf. Restaurants and Gelato shops have good food at good prices.

Favorite Day Trip from Rome
Jul 2018 • Couples
We visited Anzio by high speed rail out of Rome. We first looked at the memorial to World War Two, at the port. We then proceeded to the beach, and had an absolutely wonderful day on the beautiful sandy beach of Anzio. The restaurants are excellent, and it was so relaxing to enjoy a bottle of wine under our beach umbrella.
I highly recommend enjoying this small town for a relaxing day away from Rome!

Fisherboats and fresh Fish
Oct 2018
This is a real port, where real fishermen arrive and sell their fish. In the morning very busy for the market, in the evening quite a good place to eat. Here you can eat high level cuisine !
