A must to visit this unique place in Agrigente, a nature reserve, a dream beach with white sand, impressionant in the morning and on sunset ; white flowers of the almond trees, fichis d'India, (figues of Barbari), cactus, and all the lemon trees of the valley.

I went to Punta Bianca with my girlfriend in early August to spend the day at the beach there, swimming and snorkeling. It is quite off the beaten path in the sense that it is hard to reach, but also in the sense that it is not crowded at all, perhaps as a result of the latter. When we arrived,... More

Punta Bianca is a unique spot. It is a white stone formation (similar but smaller than the closeby Scala dei Turchi) over the blue Sicilian sea. Quite easy to reach the place by car, although it requires some km of dirt road. So much less known than the Scala dei Turchi, so more calm and better if looking for nature,... More

When you are traveling in a hire car you are very mindful of the terrain, sadly the access roads were awful, although we tried to continue along the tracks (even with all of us, except the driver, leaving the vehicle) we had to abandon our visit as we were worried about damaging our car.

Somehow I read that this was a WWF (creatures not wrestlers) site which I assumed meant a staffed centre and some waif and stray turtles. There was none of that but it was a pleasant walk with some varied woodland, sea, beach and mountain from which there were some great views. Worth getting out to see.

It's about a 15 minute drive from Agrigento and then a 10 minute walk after you park your car but it's an amazing natural phenomenon. You can go, eat at a restaurant by the road overlooking the beach and then take the stairs down.
