I had never even heard of this artist until we stayed nearby and were looking for days out. This guy was insanely talented... Though I emphasise the insane! Our young daughters were taken by the sculptures, colourful paintings and the grounds. We are real fans of his work now. If you're in the area, you must visit this place.

I had never heard of Robert Tatin and in a way it was a good thing to have no preconceptions as the reality is extraordinary. Tucked away in the country outside Laval the size of the car park gives you an idea of the visitor numbers. (There are loos in the car park). Approached through a wooded tunnel there is... More

Visited a most magical world today that had been imaginatively created by internationally famous artist Robert Tatin. To house his collection of contemporary paintings he built several art galleries in a complex of rooms beside his home in Cosse le Vivien. To link them all together he constructed a playful collection of statues around an open courtyard which are approached... More

We found this a very interesting place to visit - lots of fascinating sculptures to look at, and lots of space for the children to run around. The staff spoke good English and were very keen to ensure that we enjoyed our visit. Highly recommended!

An amazing experience. Ample parking you walk up to a modern reception where English was spoken by all the guides. A fascinating place, a folly (??) created by Robert Tatin, huge sculptures in a superb setting with clear and easily understood English pamphlet the tour of the house is worth the extra couple of euros. There is also a very... More

This museum was amazing!!!! Definitely a must see if your staying in the area. WE went on a weekday and it was very quiet and peaceful. There is no cafe though so bring a picnic!

This man was either a genius or just bonkers but his work is just brilliant. Nothing can prepare you for the scale of the sculptures, I would advise taking your time, there is so much to see on each individual work of art. We paid for a tour of his house, it was amazing. The guide was lovely and very... More

Well worth a visit. The sculptures were truly fascinating and unlike anything I'd ever seen before. I am not a huge fan of art, so I can't really comment from a influences or originality point of view. However, as a guest of the museum, I found the grounds to be beautiful, the sculptures to be brilliant and the house itself... More
