I find the beach grounding regardless of where in the world it is. Regardless of the current weather - it can be calm and rugged at the same time. It is unspoilt and beautiful. The vastness of the coast and sea are unobscured. It really is a perfect sanctuary for solitude and is easy to be lost in mindfulness there.... More

Beautiful unspoilt beach - no distractions only sand , views and daily dolphins swimming so close to the beach you can almost touch them. A definite must visit but be self sufficient - Carrikakinga has no shops - just holiday homes and a very small handful of locals who kindly share the beauty of the beaches with visitors. It's certainly... More

Lovely beach in a great part of SA and so close to the adelaide CBD by other cities standards. The only thing that would improve this beach would be some sort of kiosk or cafe or even a food truck! i understand the community doesn't want commerce in Carrickalinga but i know i would.

This is one of my all-time favourite beaches! The sand is almost white, the water is clear and I've seen dolphins before also! The main reason I love it is because there is hardly any people around. Quite often we've had the beach to ourselves!

Even in winter, a walk along this gorgeous beach is a must. In summer this is a delightfully safe beach for children of all ages

A lovely, gorgeous sandy beach, but it can be dangerous. At Christmas time two young lads were body surfing the medium sized waves, when they were suddenly caught in a rip and dragged a distance out to sea. It was lucky they were spotted by relatives watching them and hauled to safety. It was a very close call. It is... More

Took our new motorhome for a quick trip to Normanville. Was spotted strolling down the main street by a workmate of my partner. Invited us back to his family's rental @ Carrickalinga for a New Years drink & also for them to check out the m/h. Their 2 storey beach house was on Gold Coast Drive which is directly across... The views around the bottom end of the Fleurieu Peninsula are truly stunning. Not many places in Australia where sheep graze beside the ocean and a late afternoon visit by my wife an I had us enjoying the whole scene with that wonderful light that comes at that time of day. The place looks like one of those regions where... More

Our home away from home for a few weeks each summer: perfect beach, stunning views, amazing sunsets and, at times, it feels like it is all ours. A true family and dog friendly beach and community. Great facilities are 5 minutes away at Normanville and Yankalilla and more stunning scenery awaits down the coast at Second Valley and beyond. Love... More
