Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Outstanding range of beers in 'Esquelbecq' !
It was nice listening to this 20 year brewing master talk about all that has taken place in the beer ....
Highly recommend to visit the 'artisanal' brewery as well as the beautiful shop !

Authentic brasserie nestled in the beautiful village of Escquelbecq right next to the chateau. The beer is very good and the owners have 2 "chambres d'hotes" that are nice and comfortable.

Stopped here for a tour and sampling on a leger beer & battlefields tour. Daniel the friendly owner gave us a tour and explanation of the brewing process. Then it was onto the bar with classic and some amusing beer memorabilia. There was of course beer to try and available to purchase to takeaway. The beers are similar in style to those of Flanders, I tried 4, the tasty Saison was my favourite. Well worth stopping here for refreshment.

After making email contact with the brewery, I made a solo bike trip from the B&B in Watou for a visit.

Daniel Thiriez, (owner/brewer) could not have been a more gracious and welcoming host. He gave me a tour of his small & effcient brewery & then we went into the bar area to sample several of the brewery's offerings. All of the beers I sampled were outstanding, (plus, you can buy beer to go). This man knows how to brew beer!

Daniel was very informitive & spoke with great passion not only about his beers, but beer in general. It was nice listening to this 20 year brewing master talk about all that has taken place in the beer world during the past 2 decades

If you are in the area & enjoy beer, I highly recommend making a trip to Esquelbecq France & visiting Brasserie Thiriez!!

The owner organises tours for small groups with an insight into the workings of a local brewery (Not 'micro-brewery' he insists) and tastings afterwards in a 'bar' filled with brewing memorabilia. Added to this he has two B&B rooms. You couldn't stay any closer

A Leger Battlefield tour. A small brewery, with a very selection of fine craft beer, a tap room full of beer memorabilia and bar towels!! Definitely worth a visit.

Quirky tap-room with lots of beer memorabilia. Good selection of his own beers on draught and lots of bottles to take away. Not open on Sundays.

As part of our beer tour with BonBeerVoyage, we made a very special stop to meet with and experience the craft beers of Brasserie Thiriez. Daniel and his wife were incredibly gracious -- and we thoroughly enjoyed being able to learn more about the motivation behind the Thiriez brews. Very creative and passionate people. The beers were so very tasty! Make this part of your drive through Northern France or Southern Belgium. This is truly for beer enthusiasts only!
