The place can be designed to be one of the best attractions for those who are willing to attend the wildlife and relaxing. There are hundreds of birds types that can be viewed through scoopes but in summer no way to handle 10 minutes as there is no any single infrastructure as in house to serve guests

We spent a few days with our son in Muscat, and he booked a trip around Al Ansab for us. What a couple of hours! we were met on our arrival by a charming and very knowledgeable lady who drove us around the area and showed us a lot of birds. I am an experienced birder, but she left me... More

I have been looking for this wetland for quite sometime and found very little information. This year I finally gathered enough knowledge to locate the wetland at the headquarters of the Haya Water Company. Drive past the trucks towards the main building and you will see a sign for Al Ansab Wetland. Near to the gate there is a sign... More

We were staying locally and someone lent us a bird book to identify all the birds in the gardens of the Al Bustan Palace Hotel. Al Ansab is around 35 minutes from the Al Bustan by taxi and, initially, a somewhat unlikely birding area. In a desert, which Oman is in reality, an area of water attracts birds and it... More

Sir Petr Scott would have said well done .. So ,too would Wilfred Thesinger .. Each would have bombarded the Omani authorities to expand the space you have been given . We had an excellent ,brilliantly informed Omani lady guide .

Al Ansab Wetland is a natural wonderland in the heart of Muscat. It provides a showcase for Oman’s impressive nature with its abundance of bird life. Many people in Muscat do not know about the ansab wetlands. It's like a different world in the middle of a sewage treatment plant. The migratory birds during certain months of the year are a real treat for bird watchers. A must visit if you are in Muscat.
