A great experience when you travel to Muscat.. The drive from Muscat to Qantab itself is great, and once you reach the beach its quite unique in its views. Boating is available for those who like that. Avoid summer as its typically hot.

Not too far (15km) from Muscat city centre, it is close to Muttrah and Ruwi and adjacent to Al-Bustan. To get to the village, take the Qantab Road and you will traverse the mountain range where you will see a large car park for you to stop and have a picnic or to take some photos. There is also a smaller car park on the hillside and you can stop and walk/jog up the hill. Great views on a clear day. As you descend the mountain road, the village is on the left. Take the road and park by the beach. Not too many amenities to hand but the locals are friendly, the beaches clean albeit a bit rocky. There is a more secluded but rockier area just past the prefab beach huts to the left of the main beach and a hillock overlooking the village.

We had a wonderful time in a small suite over looking the beach. The people of Qanrab were friendly and helpful. The beach and water was very nice. A local fisherman took us for a boat ride to a private beach where we spent the day.

This is a rocky, working beach. Fishing boats leave from here. The beach has beautiful Qantab Mountains at one end and a huge rock at the other. The small fishing village of Qantab behind. It’s peaceful, serene and a wonderful place to unwind. Generally the beach is clean, but, sadly, many visitors rock in and leave their trash on the sand... everyday, whilst here, my wife and kids did a cleanup - collecting at least one bag of trash each day...
