Wilāyat Wādī Banī Khālid is a Wilāyah in the Northern Governorate of the Eastern Region of Oman. Located about 126 mi from Muscat, and 120 km from Sur, the province has a wadi which serves as a destination for tourists, that is Wādī Banī Khālid

Beautiful day trip. Walk, hike climb up and down then take a swim in the crystal clean ponds. Let the little fish nibble at your feet. Look around a lot because your brain may not be able to process how beautiful this wadi is. Time yourself to be back before sunset. Take your water with you. TAKE YOUR GARBAGE BACK WITH YOU ___ PLEASE believe it or not there are the ignorant one that think they can leave a pile of their garbage for someone else to collect. TERRIBLE Plenty of local young and old offering help if you need it. Watch the weather forecasts for the area. Listen to the local advice. Rain in the mountains could result in flash floods even though you see no rain. It is a challenging hike on some slippery rocks and jagged edges. If you can manage this it will be worth the hike!

We passed by Wadi Bani Khalid on the way to Jebel Akhdar. We saw a lot of local families swimming in the Wadi. Unlike Wadi Shab, where you have to walk for a while before you reach the water, it's just a short walk from the car park until you reach the area where people are swimming. I would love to come back again for a swim!

A short level walk from the car park. Several places to picnic and paddle your feet. There does appear to be a small cafe.
