No other boat trip in Norfolk ( to my knowledge) manoeuvres down such tranquil narrow dykes. This trip stands apart from the rest as it is less commercial and the broads staff make it more of a personal experience .Time seems to have stood still in these very special passageways of the broads. You can almost envisage the sedge and reed cutters... A one hour trip on electric boat through a nature reserve. Main sights are insects rather than bird. Very knowledgable guide who gave a good commentary. Stop at a bird hide on the way round. Also a nature walk and bird hide on the same site. Well recommended.

This is a lovely trip in a small electrically powered boat through the reeds just off the busy River Ant. It is wonderfully quiet and relaxing with only the soft purr of the motor. We saw loads of dragon and damsel flies on our trip. The guide was excellent and informative and clearly loved his work. Getting to How Hill... More

This is a delightful trip where you travel quietly through the reeds and experience the beauty and nature of the Broads. This was recommended to us and feel very privileged that we had this opportunity. Thank you!

This is a lovely little boat trip lasting approximately fifty minutes round the small sections of the broads. Very slow and relaxing but only big enough for six people at a time so be warned if there are a lot of you. It would need to be booked in advance. There is a stop part way so you can go... More

We decided to go on this boat as it sounded a good trip for an hour. We weren't disappointed - the skipper/ guide was very informative and he obviously knew a lot about the bird life in the area. With a little stop at a hide this was a very relaxing trip.

Having moored our holiday cruiser at How Hill Staithe for the night, we decided to take a trip on the Electric Eel . This hour long trip on a small electrically powered boat, takes you through the drainage dykes of the reed beds opposite Toad's Hole Cottage. This is a private nature reserve owned by the How Hill Trust. You... More

Fantastic little trip on a very quiet part of the broads venturing off into a private nature reserve owned by the broads authority. We really enjoyed the relaxed nature of this trip as did our five year old son. He really enjoyed getting off the boat for a short walk to the bird hide too. There are binoculars provided for... Electric Eel is a passenger boat with a broads ranger in charge of the tour. Its one of four boats run in different parts of the area by the Broads Authority. Whilst the broads area is stunning in itself this trip gives access to the very narrow waterways used by reed-cutters in days gone by. The general public afloat do... More
