Beautiful village

If you are returning from the Troodos mountains to Limasol stop to see Lania. A real gem. Very quite during off seasons. A perfect place for artists.

Probably the best village in the area. Beautifully maintained. Such a pleasant difference from the ultra commercialised Omodos. A very delightful old village. Such a pleasure to walk around its cobbled narrow streets and take in the smells from the numerous flowers. Make sure you visit the art studio of Patrick Thompson at the entrance of the village. There are... More

It was our second time we have visited this beautiful village. Everybody must visit this village which is not far from Limassol town. Cobblestones little lanes with big Posters of photos of people who lived in this village dislplayed on the sides of the lanes . There are about 3-4 places of interest to be visited in this village and... More

I don't know how typical our experience was but we found the village to be amazingly quiet - we almost had the place to ourselves. Spent a happy hour just wandering the streets including the little museum places and artists studios.

Came across Lania Village in my red plated hire car, quite a few years ago but often think of the wonderful, peaceful afternoon we had there, bought two oil painted pictures in a gallery come craft shop, just as you entry the village, often wonder if it is still trading hope so it was wonderful. Then we came across a... More

Not only is the village very pretty and full of little cobbled streets with old photos of villagers posted around, but you also have the opportunity to visit the local artists in their studios and see their work, we viewed beautiful works by Michael Owen who was not home but his studio was being looked after by a friend, and... Wine produced in this village sang Homer. Stunning images of ancient Cyprus. Several museums, and all open until late at night, free for visits.

I visited Lania (aka Laneia) on my way from Limassol to the Troodos Massif and it made for a nice, short detour. The little roads in town are very narrow so it's better to park in the lot that's right before entering town. It's a small village and I had a very pleasant hour or so just meandering around, poking... More
