The first Castle in Tarragona, Catalonia by 11th Century. Very interesting historical medieval castle. Appropriate by the whole family. Wholesome panoramic view of the Ebro River( Río Ebro). Affordable entrance fee and convenient souvenir store.

It's a nice visit but you must avoid the central hours of the day. Too hot and not so much shadows to get fresh air.

20 minutes walk up on hill through the old village will get you up to one of the last stands of the Templars. This castle has so much history and it comes with a bonus - the view from the towers, amazing view of the river and the surroundings. The entrance fee is a little on the pricey side. I added this up on my planner not only for the castle but for the beauty of this small village. I also scheduled the visit early morning to beat up the crowds. Give it a go! September 4.

Allow yourself at least two hours for a proper visit. From the top of the castle there you can enjoy breathtaking views on the Ebro and on the entire region. If it is not raining you will be really happy visiting this castle.
