Sandy beach
Sep 2021
This beach spans the length of the town and is a mix of mainly sand with a few pebbly bits. The sea was so far out when we visited and this left large expanses of mud. Nice for a day with the children with donkey rides etc.

Very quiet in the autumn sunshine
Sep 2021
Large open expanse of sand with the pier towards the north end. At low tide it can get a bit muddy towards the waterline. Areas at both ends are dog friendly.

An ok beach
Sep 2021 • Couples
Its a lovely beach, very large so it doesnt get crowded which is nice. The tide was so far out and we didnt go to the waters edge due to all the danger sinking mud signs which was a shame. Donkey rides were cute to see even if alittle outdated these days.
Parking was reasonable at £6 for 4 hours which was enough for us at 31 degrees.
Toilets were 20p to use.
Couldnt go on the pier as it was a £1 to go on and we don’t carry cash due to covid anymore.
I will say there was a lack of eateries near the beach, altho it was a packed day due to nice weather it was hard to get a table anywhere. Nowhere really did sandwiches, only steak etc which wasnt ideal at lunchtime.
Would go back again

Alright for a day out
Sep 2021 • Couples
We've been here on a very sunny day which was really nice even beach is not the best but still ok for a day out. Low tide we were there 10.00 until afternoon. There are few cafes and public toilets right on the beach (20P / person for the toilet). Few cafes on The Grand Pier when we were there. You have to pay 1 £ / person to enter The Grand Pier (the toilet there smelled really bad). There are any cafes and restaurants along the Beach Road as well. Not many activities but fine for a chillax day.

P.S. You could park your car on street without any charge along Clevedon Rd, Clifton Rd, Severn Rd, Clarence Rd North and Clarence Rd South. These roads are next to each other and only across from the Beach Road to the seafront. We found a space near the beach at 10am on a Tuesday. If none, there are loadssss of space on seafront car park 6£ / 4 hrs.

Worthy of days visit

Typical seaside town, a little tired looking like many, with lots of fish & chips, ice cream and standard 'cheap tat' shops to look around. Shopping centre good, beach was busy and clean.

Big beach, no sea! (Unless you are there really early)
Aug 2021 • Family
Huge Sandy beach, nice sand with no pebbles. Plenty of space. Some good wet sand too to make decent sand castles with. Does get super muddy when trying to walk out to the tide, but my kids loved that as you can imagine. However, the tide is really really REALLY far out, unless you are there at 9.30am your not going to see the sea let alone play in it. My kids loved Funland, although I thought it was a bit shabby. We didn’t do the pier as you have to pay £1 each just to walk along it before paying to get to the amusements at the end.
Quite a lot of parking available if you get there early.
The fish and chip place on the beach front did amazing fish and chips with the best curry sauce I ever had.
Do a day there but I wouldn’t do more than that.

Acres of space with sunny sands to die for !
Aug 2021
I loved walking along these sands when on holiday there last week, Well maintained by litter pickers and small bull dosers , To ensure a clean ans safe area to play on.. There were dog-free areas and post lines showing the safe limit before hitting the lethal soft mud sands and rip tides, Deck chairs, kiting and donkey rides plus of course mechanical amusements such as a big dipper etc, A very good and typical beach.

City needs to rethink beachfront strategy

Cars on the sand?

Such a great potential for this beach front. But I'm sorry, establishing multiple car parks on the beach is a big no no for me. People not respecting dogs ban as well. And no water points found to rinse feet etc after time on the sand.
