Park your car up and chose a walk to suit you, all very scenic and very pleasurable. Plenty of spots to have a picnic, then just relax and enjoy. Very popular place though, so weekdays are better than weekends.

We visited on Easter Sunday arriving shortly after midday. Car parking places were available albeit just a few. The car park is pay and display and charges are reasonable. The site has a tea room available for take-away and there are several picnic tables and benches nearby. Tegg's Nose offers beautiful views over Macclesfield Forest and Cheshire with Jodrell Bank in view. On a clear day you can see the Welsh hills and Liverpool. The Gritstone Trail leads you up to the Quarry. It was interesting to see how the area has been shaped by its past use for quarrying. From the summit there are breathtaking views over the two reservoirs. Tegg's Nose was a great afternoon out and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys hiking and appreciates natural surroundings and history.

A great walk for a day out. The trail was well sign posted and great for the dog. The trail is through fields some with sheep so dogs need to be on leads. There was a car park and toilet facilities. Sadly the cafe was closed. I’d like to go back and visit for a takeaway refreshment.

Fantastic walk the views are amazing the only disappointment was none of the water is dog friendly and our dog lives for water, we didnt see the sign saying private no dogs until we were glared at by an angry fisherman on the other side of the lake, the sign is further down. Our dog has a perfect recall so no fear of him misbehaving it was a shame he couldnt have a cool off as it was a gorgeous day, that said it's a lovely walk and worth the uphill hike for the amazing views.

Thank you for your review. The reservoirs at the bottom of the park are owned and run by United Utilities and are fished by a local society so unfortunately not suitable for dogs.

It's beautiful! There is also a really nice tea-rooms/ cafe where you can go after having a lovely walk and seeing over Macclesfield! It's sort of confusing to get to though if you don't know the area so maybe take a map or a sat-nav or something XD
