The Ilfracombe Museum is like Doctor Who`s Tardis. It looks very small from the outside but there is so much of interest inside it`s brilliant. Well worth a visit especially on a wet afternoon as it was when we visited. Brian & Lin Walsall

There are a wide variety of items on display covering not only the history of Ilfracombe but also ordinary life in times gone by. The entry fee was very reasonable, the staff helpful and the displays were very well lit which made such a difference...More

My wife & I walked past this museum after noticing the Lord Mayor standing outside. There was bunting and a Town-Crier (?) plus local BBC TV inviting all for free. We were welcomed in by the grandson of the founder and after official ceremonies we...More

Based on other reviews I got the impression that you would spend at a minimum 2/3 hours here. We did it in 30 minutes. None of the rubbing templates were available for use and the only addition was a hunt the dinosaurs. So for 10...More

We're sorry you were disappointed with your visit to our museum. If you visited on the 16th Aug, it was the morning we held a children's activity session so it is a shame that you didn't find there was enough for children to do. On...More
