We went on the railway from Paignton to Kingswear, Ferry to Dartmouth and then a river trip up the Dart. The trains were very good, clean and well cared for and they ran to time - not always the case on these preserved railways. Every...More

On a very hot June day, enjoyed the steam hauled trip from Kingswear (Dartmouth) to Paignton and return. Most passengers had already reached Kigswear for their boat trip, so we virtually had the train to ourselves - so we could change seats to suit the...More

Been on this railway before, an authentic station hailing back to the 1950/60s. Very friendly staff, great gift shop and café at Paignton and Kingswear. Absolutely nothing to complain about on the journey whatsoever great views , classic carriages. The steam age lives on.

We are coming over from Australia in September and will be starting our Round Robin trip from Paignton. I am just wondering whether to catch the 10.30 or 12.15 train from Paignton to Kingswear/Dartmouth. My question please to staff and visitors is whether you think we would get better sightseeing value by spending the extra time in Paignton by catching the 12.15 or catch the earlier 10.30 to give us more time in Dartmouth? Thanks in advance

The staff seem fairly switched on and I am sure will find the email acceptable, just be careful though as they tore a chunk out of my ticket when I embarked 😊
