This pier seems to be just a series of slot machine penny arcade types of buildings, and you can't even get to the end of the pier as the way is barred.

I use to live this pier and a very good choice but now jeez I have never seen so many grabbing machine in my life. Not good at all and most of the fruit machines have gone to. Not impressed guys, sort it out!

It's sad but it's just not good value or any good. Arcades are all tickets collecting which most r these days but get so much better value on the main high Street arcades, food expensive and not locally original, tastes cheap and nasty. Big Shame

If you enjoy arcades with flashing lights, tinny music and machines where you can be sure to waste money, then you would have a fine time here. Paignton is a seaside town with a long pier, but its length is covered with an arcade. Nothing...More

Hi Steve, I would just like to reiterate the danger of the seagulls not just on the pier but even in the town of Paignton and surrounding areas. They have become fearless and brazen. We were sat on a bench and my Partner and I were totally shocked at the lightning speed with which a gull swooped and stole the whole of the hot dog he was eating. It happened in a flash; now if they are brave enough to do that to an adult goodness knows what could happen to a child. These are menaces in the sky and it seems wrong that they are protected. We even saw a total waste of resources with two fire engines deployed to rescue a seagull that had become trapped up on Alta Vista road in netting at the top of some flats. I would also like to add that I love Paignton, but people do need to be made aware of this real danger.

Yes there is a fortune teller on the pier, but she is only there in the summer months. She is on the right hand side as you go along the pier, she was also there last year.
