We stopped several times for a lovely latte and scone during our dog walks. There is a good outdoor seating area for the dog and yourself which looks up at Crook Hall and Gardens. Quality homemade food is available. Very friendly staff.

A lovely walk around the gardens with the out door staff explain things as we passed them, then afternoon tea, for some reason our party had a room to ourselves with the staff being so attentive with the right measure of privacy and attention.

Had afternoon tea with my sister today,it was perfect. Service excellent,we had a private room with a wounderful coal fire burning, everything about the afternoon tea was beautiful the cakes were the most delicious and so moist .We relaxed and chatted and then investigated the hall and gardens, what a perfect afternoon would thoroughly recommend.

I visited with my elderly friend, as I had bought her the garden gate tea voucher as a Christmas gift. We had an absolutely lovely day. The gardens were great, even though not many flowers out as yet, and also had a lovely time in the house. So many nooks and crannies to explore. Tamarind the cat followed us everywhere... More

Even though the gardens were not in flower, I still spent a good couple of hours wandering around them, followed by Tamarind the cat. Don't miss any of the nooks hidden away, and take some time to walk through both parts of the house, maybe take a seat for a while in front of the wood burning fire. The tea... More

Two great cafes, very different, but with attentive and charming staff. The gardens are lovely in February, so they'll be a delight in the summer. I'll certainly be back many times.

For 60 years now I've lived near to, and visited, Durham City, but only now discovered Crook Hall and Gardens. I visited with my Mum (over 80) this week, and I must admit the good weather helped us to enjoy it, especially for February. The gardens are beautifully laid out and the Gardeners are friendly and enthusiastic. There are two... More
