More
This 19th century fort includes a museum highlighting Weymouh's role in Britain's naval history. Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, Nothe Fort is one of the best preserved forts of its kind. The advances in technology that affected the fort are explained through many displays, exhibits and audio visual facilities located on the ramparts, gun decks and maze of underground passageways. Enjoy the stunning and far reaching views of the Jurassic Coast from the picnic areas on the Ramparts. These will provide one of the best vantage points on the south coast.

Nothe Fort was a last minute visit however we are glad we stopped! The staff were very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. We all had a great time learning about the Fort and counting the mice hidden around the Fort!

The grounds around the fort are the hidden gem here as the offer picture perfect views. The fort it's self is what you would expect .....the 'ghost' is hilarious though there is meant to be real ghosts here

Spent a couple of hours here and was worth the trip. Lovely walk through the gardens to get to the fort with squirrels running around that were not in the least fazed by people. The fort was good, very informative and the staff were friendly.

Didn't think it will be that interesting for the youngest child but they both enjoyed it, especially the mouse hunt and the big guns and dark ghost tunnel. Lovely museum
